Learning from Uber, the importance of mentorship, and paying the second tuition
In this episode, we invited SMU basketball standout Jarrey Foster to join the conversation.
We discuss how Jon and Jarrey developed a unique and trusted friendship. We dive into how and why Jon and Scott love to mentor people. Through the conversation we learn that mentors can play a pivotal role at any point and both parties in that relationship can find tremendous benefits.
Jarrey explains how he is navigating his transition from a man in sport to the next chapter. He calls out that he knows what is most critical is to keep moving forward. Sitting idle does not serve us well and Jarrey shares his advice to others as they navigate transition. The episode concludes with a very strong observation from Jon about the change in game speed at the different higher levels of basketball and makes a parallel to high functioners.
This is a great conversation that will inspire you to consider the role of mentorship in your own life and how it can add value.
